Some CEOs are known for their near-inhuman dedication to their directorships, but it seems one former executive is happy to hang up his cufflinks and indulge a musical passion.

Andrew Mason was once the CEO of daily-deals website Groupon, after being sacked this February he hasn’t quite continued the rat-race yet, instead choosing to record an album aptly named “Hardly Workin’”. The seven-song screamer dropped to an army expectant suit-rock fans this week, dropping executive knowledge bombs in tracks like "The Way to Work," "My Door is Always Open" and the gritty, hip-hop stylings of “Stretch”.

Groupon shed itself of Mason after repeated drops in stock values; the site had enjoyed an extremely popular stint after its launch, but was overwhelmed by a wave of copycat services. Mason has earned his musical credibility as a former punk band keyboardist; he’s calling this album "motivational business music." It is available on iTunes, and for streaming on Spotify.

"This album pulls some of the most important learnings from my years at the helm of one of the fastest growing businesses in history, and packages them as music," Mason wrote on his blog. "Executives, mid-level management, and front-line employees are all sure to find valuable takeaways."
