The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) has published its August quarter report on earnings, showing a higher than expected weekly average income increase.

 

ABS data shows that full-time earnings had lifted 1.2 per cent in the August quarter, higher than general expectations of around 1 per cent.

 

The revised findings bring the annual growth rate to 5.3 percent seasonally adjusted.
