Sydney's economic success is of national importance. The City's Economic Development Strategy sets out a strategic framework and actions to strengthen Sydney's competitiveness, improve productivity and capacity and promote opportunity to achieve Sustainable Sydney 2030 objectives.
This challenging role will bring this plan to life through actions relating to small business, tech start-ups, tourism, retail, day and night time economy, international engagement, international education, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander economic development, and actual and perceived safety in the City.
The Manager Economic Programs will build strong collaborative relationships with business, peak business organisations, residents, all levels of government, and across Council.
The successful applicant will have a strong understanding of economic development, and the levers available to local government in collaboration with other agencies. You will be able to demonstrate high level experience in leading a multi-disciplinary team, and strong business and operational skills to drive results. You will know how to build an organisation culture that is resilient and adaptive, with a commitment to good governance and public benefit.
