An exciting opportunity exists for a highly motivated individual to join the Procurement Unit as the City's Contract Performance Manager.
The City is committed to achieving value for money and providing a high level of corporate contract governance as it is responsible for the delivery of a wide range of services to the community.
The City has robust contract management practises and adopts a variety of contract management models to cater for different contract categories, levels of risk and varying requirements across the organisation. The Contract Performance Manager is responsible to the Strategic Contract Manager for the development and monitoring of the Council's contract management capability, ensuring value for money outcomes and service objectives to ensure activities are in line with local government procurement principles and best practice. This role has one direct report.
The Contract Performance team plays a key role in coaching and mentoring business Contract Managers through the provision of relevant contract management, training, coaching & support, reviews and expert advice. You will also be working to develop proactive management capability by assisting with a refresh of the Contract Management Framework and supporting the implementation of a Contract Management ICT Solution.
To be successful you will need to have extensive procurement experience in contract management and/or supplier relationship management and be able to demonstrate how to enhance contract performance and delivery outcomes.
You will have strong verbal and written communication skills, stakeholder engagement skills, the ability to review and analyse data and experience in working with contracts combined with sound understanding of procurement and contracts governance policy and processes in a public sector context, preferably Local Government.
In addition, experience implementing change projects or facilitating learning would be looked upon favourably. Ideally you will also hold tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline or an equivalent qualification.
