Accounts Payable Officer

Our Financial Transactional Services department is seeking a part-time Accounts Payable Officer to join the Accounts Payable team, working the equivalent of 0.4 of an FTE, preferably across 2 days per week on a Thursday and Friday. This is a 12-month fixed term position based at the Ballarat Business Centre, where you will join a team of 6, comprising 5 Accounts Payable Officers and the Team Leader Accounts Payable

About the role

Accounts Payable Officers are responsible for the efficient, timely and accurate management and processing of creditor accounts in line with AV policies and procedures.  

Reporting to the Team Leader Accounts Payable, the main responsibilities of the role include (but are not limited to):

  • Undertake accounts payable assessment and processing for delivery of accurate payment of creditor accounts within AV policies, procedures and delegations,
  • Act as a first point of contact for creditor queries, maintaining a high standard of customer service to enhance AV's reputation,
  • Ensure general ledger coding and other data for all invoices is accurate, resolving discrepancies as required,
  • Generate payments via approved payment methods for authorised invoices or payroll within specified timeframes,
  • Maintain accurate record keeping, provide ad hoc reports, general administrative duties and other tasks as required.

About you

To be successful in this position you will have experience working in an accounts Payable department where you will have gained proficient accounts payable skills and be competent at an intermediate level in Microsoft Office and Excel, providing you with the ability to perform in a high-volume environment to achieve performance output targets. Your attention to detail and quality control will drive high levels of accuracy, supported by a professional and mature attitude with sound judgement skills. You will have established problem-solving skills to enable the identification of issues and the judgement to determine appropriate courses of action. You will have a strong work ethic, with the ability to work independently with minimum supervision, while also being a committed team member striving to achieve outstanding customer service and performance targets.

The position is Administrative, Band 2 commencing at $59,666 (or pro rata equivalent for part-time positions) + 10.5% Superannuation as well as excellent employment conditions in accordance with Ambulance Victoria's Enterprise Agreement.
