The Fund Services team in the Colonial First State Wrap business based in Hawthorn East, provides banking, bank reconciliation, regulatory reporting, accounting/tax information, and project support to various internal and external customers.

The primary purpose of the Senior Financial Accountant is to handle bank reconciliations (preparation and review), ensure outstanding items are effectively investigated and followed up, provide timely and accurate banking services, regulatory reporting for superannuation / Investor Directed Portfolio Services and Separately Managed Account funds, maintaining the general ledger and preparation of monthly reconciliation files. The Fund Services team is involved in all areas across the wrap business and as such, each member of the team will need to be adaptable to a variety of different tasks and be flexible to accommodate peak periods.

This role reports to the Manager, Fund Services and will see you having responsibility for preparing accounts for funds on a regular basis, ensuring that ledgers are maintained regularly and that outstanding items are followed up on and cleared in a timely manner. In addition you will have accountability for preparing Business Activity statements, APRA returns, financial reports and tax returns before lodgement and assist with the management of the internal and external audits for the Fund Services team. You will also represent the team on any project related work.

We’re interested in hearing from people who have:

• Around 5 years + accounting experience
• CPA / CA accounting qualifications
• Previous work experience within the financial services sector
• Excellent communication and strong problem solving skills
• The ability to meet deadlines and objectives in a busy commercial environment
• Strong attention to detail
• The ability to be a reliable and collaborative team player
