Corporate Accountant 

About the role

The Corporate Accountant sits within the finance operations team and is responsible for providing technical expertise in financial reporting, operations accounting, budgeting and forecasting to meet a number of statutory reporting requirements. Working collaboratively with the broader Finance team this role will also:

  • Assist with the preparation of the annual and half yearly statutory financial reporting in compliance with accounting standards and ministerial directions
  • Facilitate the timely completion of external audit requirements
  • Provide analysis, advice and guidance on the interpretation and application of accounting standards
  • Ensure the timely completion of month and quarter end requirements to facilitate lodgement of the data feed to the Department of Treasury and Finance
  • Assist with the transition of the new Oracle Cloud system including data migration, user acceptance testing and training

About you

You are an established and experienced Corporate Accountant with a strong focus on service delivery and a flexible approach to work to meet tight deadlines and conflicting priorities. You will have extensive knowledge and experience in statutory financial reporting within a large multi-disciplined organisation. You will also possess:

  • Highly developed interpersonal and consultative skills with the ability to converse and influence both internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
  • Excellent problem solving skills with an analytical approach to your work
  • The ability to identify, address and resolve accounting issues with a strong focus on continuous process improvement
  • A relevant professional qualification such as a CA/CPA or equivalent
