As a Revenue Officer, you’ll help to ensure compliance with statutory and accounting regulations and Council policy and contribute to the achievement of Council’s community relations goals, promoting a favourable image of Council through excellent customer service. You’ll be responsible for ensuring that all rates and property related charges are promptly and efficient collected and that rates and property records are accurately maintained. This position also covers financial responsibilities including reconciling and investigating dishonoured checks, refunds, direct debit payments and outstanding debtors.
To ensure a high level of service we’re looking for:
- A detail oriented professional with previous experience in revenue administration or a similar role and with debt collection processes
- Strong computer skills with knowledge of electronic document management systems such as HPE TRIM, and rating and property database software’s such as Technology One
- Excellent communications skills with the ability to provide an exceptional customer service to all customers, including difficult customers, whilst being able to resolve problems in a positive and helpful manner
- An intuitive mind with strong time management skills
