Finance Manager

We are seeking a highly experienced Finance Manager to support our growing business. As the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the accounting and reporting requirements for a portfolio. You’ll assist with analysis of technical accounting matters, and provide accounting support to the various development projects across the Group. By collaborating with the various stakeholders, you will have true insight into the business and will be able to drive key outcomes.

The impact you’ll have:

  • You’ll comprise monthly results analysis, management reporting, budgeting and forecasting, scenario analysis, business case support and cost analysis.
  • You’ll contribute to the success of Transurban by identifying new opportunities to reduce cost and benchmarking operational performance through greater transparency and further development of key operational metrics.
  • You’ll develop strong relationships with senior management to embed financial analysis and decision support within all areas of the business.
  • You’ll provide financial support in the identification, shaping and evaluation of new business initiatives and commercial outcomes.
  • You’ll analyse and provide commentary around the impact of new accounting standards to the Transurban Group
  • With your keen eye for details, you’ll assess the accounting implications of unique / ad-hoc transactions, and provide accounting support and advice when the Group is undertaking development projects, corporate funding transactions and capital market transactions.
  • Developing a greater level of technical accounting knowledge across the broader Transurban Accounting Group.
  • In addition, you’ll be a lateral thinker and have the ability to effectively challenge current business models and generate a new direction of how Transurban will do business in the future.

The talents you’ll bring:

  • Significant relevant accounting experience and previous exposure to leading teams. Ideally within chartered and industry. If coming straight from Chartered, you’ll be accomplished at the Manager or Senior Manager level.
  • Degree qualified in Business, Commerce or Finance, you’ll also have your professional accounting accreditation (CA or CPA).
  • You’re naturally analytical and your budgeting and forecasting skills aid your ability to identify and analyse key business drivers.
  • Extensive experience with statutory accounting and reporting preparation, in particular for large consolidated Group structures
  • Experience in preparation and consolidation of cash flows essential
  • Experience with Hyperion and Workday an advantage
  • Previous exposure to high volume transaction business and analysis an advantage
  • You’ll possess high levels of attention to detail, with the accuracy of the information you compile so that your stakeholders can make the right decisions.
  • Commercially astute, engaging and a natural builder of relationships best describes you
  • You’ll enjoy getting on the front foot, embedding yourself in the business and connecting with stakeholders to achieve business outcomes.
