We are looking for an experienced Group Financial Accountant to join our growing and supportive group finance team.  Reporting to the Senior Financial Reporting Manager, you will provide technical support in the preparation of group consolidated financial reporting, including monthly internal accounts and external statutory reporting, as well as providing accounting policy oversight and technical accounting support to the wider accounting team.  Responsibilities will include:

• Month end accounting procedures, including preparation of monthly journals, supporting work papers, reconciliations, cash flow statements and overall support during the process
• Assist with maintaining the Group’s accounting consolidations
• Review of monthly management accounts and preparation of various reports based on financial information
• Statutory Group financial statement preparation in accordance with prescribed accounting standards and pronouncements
• External audit process, including compilation of audit work files and supporting documentation for external auditors and liaising with external auditors and answering queries
• Technical accounting support and ensuring adherence to accounting standards
• Continuous improvement of systems and processes

To be successful you will have:

• Extensive experience in a similar financial or management accounting role
• CA or CPA qualification and a relevant tertiary qualification
• Demonstrated experience in month-end accounting procedures
• Previous experience in the energy industry will be highly regarded
• Advanced Excel Skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
• Strong technical accounting skills across IFRS and consolidations
• A continuous improvement approach around processes and systems
• Exceptional stakeholder management and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and develop relationships both internally and externally
• Excellent time management skills and the ability to work in an autonomous environment
