What you'll be doing

The Research Management Accountant directly contributes to the Northern Sydney Local Health District (NSLHD) meeting its financial management obligations and the effective implementation of finance systems to deliver efficiencies and to support the reliability, integrity and accuracy of financial information.   

Employees must abide by the NSW Health Code of Conduct. Criminal record checks will be undertaken on successful applicants and applicants for positions designated as Category A will be required to obtain required vaccinations prior to commencing employment. 

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

  • Consistently demonstrates behaviours that reinforce the CORE Values of our organisation; Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment. Demonstrates these behaviours with all stakeholders; colleagues, direct reports, as well as our patients and consumers, and those that care for them
  • A tertiary qualification in Accounting, Business or Commerce and/or meet the requirements to be a member of a recognised Australian professional accounting body.
  • Extensive experience in management accounting.
  • Significant experience and skills using a recognised Financial Management Information System in a large organisation, such as Oracle Financial Management System and advanced user of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop business cases, enhancement proposals, business plans and briefs.
  • Demonstrated excellent analytical skills and capacity to interpret financial and nonfinancial data (such as activity and full time equivalent data).
  • Demonstrated high level of interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication skills.
  • High-level communication and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to consult and negotiate with key stakeholders at all levels.
