Description
We require a full time Senior Rates Officer ASAP.

The main objectives of the role are to:

• Assisting with all aspects of negotiating, processing and compliance of rate payment arrangements including special payment arrangements
• Deal promptly, empathically and efficiently at all times with customers to meet their needs in accordance with the City’s customer service standards
• Receiving and responding to rating and property enquires by phone, mail, email or in person
• Processing of e-Rates registrations
• Assisting with all aspects of negotiating, processing and compliance of rate payment arrangements including special payment arrangements
• Creating, updating and maintaining the Name and Address register
• Prepare statement of rates and orders and requisition, where necessary source information from departments with the City

Profile
As an ideal applicant, you will have;

• Previous rates experience and knowledge in a Local Government environment essential
• Proven ability to process and accurately maintain data and financial transactions
• Excellent communication skills both face to face and over the telephone
• Ability to handle difficult situations and ensure a resolution to any conflict
• Knowledge of application of policies, regulations and statutory requirements of the Local Government and rating system
• Knowledge of established work practices and procedures relevant to rating systems
