The Opportunity


Our Finance Group is looking for a strategic minded individual with strong analytical skills to be our next Senior Analyst. You will be assisting our Investments Lead with strategic work surrounding the ownership of the ActewAGL energy investment and evaluating Icon Water’s investment opportunities, corporate strategies and insurance policies.

A day in the life…


1. Support the Investments Lead to provide commercial advice (after extensive analysis and evaluation) on:

- strategies to maximise the value of Icon Water’s investments in the ActewAGL joint venture, informed by changes observed in the energy and related industries;

- strategies, assessment and execution of potential transactions (acquisition and/or divestment) in relation to water and sewerage assets; and

- changes in the water industry, including Icon Water’s performance compared to the industry, and strategies that Icon Water should adopt to improve the value attributable to shareholders.

2. Develop business cases/plans and strategies including financial modelling, corporate structuring advice, contracting advice, strategic assessment and risk mitigation to support commercial advice.

3. Support the development of high-quality materials to brief the Executive and Board on the Investments Team’s projects.

4. Undertake screening and evaluation of potential M&A targets and divestments including assisting with due diligence processes and negotiations.

5. Support the management of Icon Water’s insurance policies and associated activities with the assistance and strong relationship with Icon Water’s insurance brokers.


Key qualifications, skills and experience we will need you to have:

1. Relevant tertiary qualifications in Accounting or similar (finance, commerce etc.).
2. Significant experience in quantitative, financial and analytical skills within a commercial environment.
3. Experience in preparing and presenting complex business issues and information combined with the ability to engage and influence a diverse set of stakeholders.
4. Extensive experience in business report writing and documentation of processes.
5. Experience in business negotiation and stakeholder engagement

Bonus if you have:
- CPA or CAANZ membership
