Council is seeking a confident and experienced Accounting Officer (Banking and Investments) to work in a fast-paced environment as part of a dynamic work team.

About the role

The Accounting Officer (Banking and Investments) assists in the treasury function of Council by monitoring cash flow to ensure adequate liquidity whilst maximising return on cash investments. The position is also required to complete Council’s bank reconciliation and process direct deposits in a timely and professional manner.The position plays an important role in ensuring that the level of service provided to internal and external customers is appropriate and that they contribute to the requirements of the team. Salary for this position is based on skills, experience and qualifications and will range from $57,137pa to $66,279pa + super.

About You

In addition to holding the relevant qualifications and being a team player you will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Demonstrated work experience in a finance / accounts working environment with experience in complex reconciliations and completion of financial reports.

  • Excellent customer service and communication (verbal and written) skills

  • Demonstrated sound analytical and problem solving skills

  • Demonstrated high attention to detail and the ability to prioritise and complete tasks efficiently and to deadlines
