STRATEGIC ASSET ACCOUNTANT

This role guides the Strategic Finance branch in strategic financial planning and reporting for assets, in alignment to the Long Term Financial Plan, to ensure best value allocation of funds to Council’s services and assets.

You would be required to support the achievement of a financially sustainable Council through provision of specialist strategic financial advice to the organisation in relation to accounting for the Council’s over $1 Billion worth of built assets. This position maintains the financial asset register, coordinates asset revaluations & depreciation reviews and provides specialist financial asset advice.

The successful applicant will have a recognised degree in accounting, proven experience in financial asset management and accounting; be proficient working with financial asset registers and preparing depreciation schedules. Highly developed computer skills and excellent interpersonal and written communication skills; advanced knowledge and skills in a number of areas to participate in complex and technical discussions to resolve problems, explain policy and reconcile viewpoints.

Salary: commencing at $1,593.20 gross per week
