About the Role

The SQL Server Database Administrator will be part of a multi-disciplinary ICT Service Delivery team providing operational support to AFSA’s SQL databases. In maintaining and remediating incidents you will deploy and maintain system monitoring requirements. You will also ensure the security and protection of data by applying security patches and assisting with the commissioning and installation of new fit-for-purpose applications. You will develop and maintain productive relationships with vendors to in relation to incidents, problems and solutions.

About You

To be successful in the role you will be an effective operator and continually leverage technology to improve business processes and mitigate risks.  You will have an ability to achieve results in an environment of collaboration and change, influence stakeholders and effectively present technical matters to non-technical clients/staff.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Experience administering Microsoft SQL Server 2012 or higher
  • T-SQL programming fundamentals – database backup and recovery processes
  • Working knowledge of Database Mirroring and Log-Shipping
  • Certification in Administering Microsoft SQL Server Databases 2012 or higher
