The Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA) has released a consultation package on Authorised Deposit-taking Institutions’ (ADIs) Points of Presence statistics.

The ADI Points of Presence publication provides a detailed annual listing of the banking services provided to Australians by ADIs.

A copy of the June 2015 Points of Presence publication is available on the APRA website, here.

APRA is reviewing the Points of Presence statistics to ensure that the statistics remain relevant and useful.

The regulator says its consultation is consistent with international statistical standards to regularly review the relevance of statistics, and its own commitment to look for opportunities to reduce compliance costs for business and the community.

In the review, APRA proposes two options for the future of the Points of Presence statistics and data collection:

1. streamline the Points of Presence statistics and data collection; or
2. cease the Points of Presence statistics and data collection

APRA has invited submissions on the proposal to be lodged by 18 November 2015.

The consultation package can be found here.
