Position Description: Chief Executive Officer
Reports To: SCEC Management Committee
Location: Remote within SCEC’s region, with some travel across Brisbane and South East Queensland.
Salary: $124,843.68 plus Superannuation
Employment Type: Full-Time, 38 hours per week (flexible), including some evening and weekend work.
Position Overview
As the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Sunshine Coast Environment Council (SCEC), you will lead the organisation through a pivotal period of strategic growth and transformation. Established in 1980, SCEC is the peak environmental advocacy body for the region, dedicated to safeguarding biodiversity, championing climate action, and promoting sustainable development. You will play a central role in steering SCEC’s mission to protect and enhance the Sunshine Coast’s natural assets through community engagement, policy advocacy, and strategic partnerships.
This role is remote within SCEC’s region, with some travel across Brisbane and South East Queensland.
Role Purpose
SCEC is seeking a visionary leader to uphold our four-decade legacy and propel our mission into the future. As SCEC’s first CEO, you will implement an ambitious five-year strategic plan, build sustainable funding sources, and expand our reach. Working with a committed team and a wide network of stakeholders, you will lead innovative initiatives to preserve the region's unique environmental heritage, inspiring collective action and fostering community resilience. Preferred Qualifications
