Finance & Risk Manager

 

My client is a small, not-for-profit organisation based in the nothern suburbs of Melbourne. Last year, their small team of staff together with over 800 volunteers assisted to support nearly 200 women, children and youth who were experiencing difficult circumstances at home.

The Role

My client is looking for a Finance & Risk Manager. Reporting to the Executive Director, you will have a broad range of responsibilties, including -

  • Managing AP function / overseeing AR
  • Processing fortnightly payroll
  • Undertaking month-end close and financial reporting
  • Preparation of budgets, forecasts, cashflows and monitoring of government funding
  • Prearation of management & board reports
  • Preparation & lodgement of tax compliance (BAS, IAS, FBT, Payroll Tax, WorkCover, statutory returns, etc.)
  • Liaising with external stakeholders including tax accountants, banks, auditors, suppliers, insurers, etc.
  • Develop and implement financial policies and procedures
  • Work closely with the Executive Director and Board of Directors to make strategic financial decisions
  • Oversee the organisation's risk register, reporting processes, audit programs and mitigation strategies

About you

You are a CA or CPA qualified accountant who is passionate about the organisation's cause. You're the type of person who isn't afraid to get your hands dirty, who loves to learn, and who is willing to chip in when needed.

Ideally, you have some experience in the not-for-profit sector and some demonstrated expreience using risk management frameworks. However, there will be lots of training and support provided in this role, so please don't be afraid to apply even if you don't fit all the criteria!

The salary on offer for this role is $90k to $110k + super, depending on experience, with some room to negotiate. Salary packaging of up to $15,900 is also available for this role.
