Museum Research Assistant

For nearly 20 years, Australians of all ages and backgrounds have been educated and inspired by the Reserve Bank of Australia Museum, fostering understanding and trust in the work of Australia’s central bank. 

We are currently seeking a Museum Research Assistant to support our Museum team in an exciting new project – redevelopment of the RBA Museum exhibition. This role will have you working closely with the Bank’s Curator to identify information sources, archival objects and external media assets.

This position is a one-year fixed term contract.

Your contribution to the team:

  • Researching a wide range of resources for new concept areas.
  • Presenting to stakeholders on research findings.
  • Sourcing objects and media assets.
  • Identifying copyright holders.
  • Maintaining a register of copyright information.

Qualifications and skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Applied knowledge in research integrity and ethics.
  • Experience in a museum or cultural institution would be highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of copyright.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to prioritise and manage time effectively.
  • Great attention to detail.
