The Commonwealth Bank has announced it will draw on the country’s largest pool of information on consumer spending patterns to with the launch of its new consumer insights platform.

The new Signals platform will use the bank’s wealth of data to examine consumer buying patterns and trends across a range of notable topics.

Signals, a visual and interactive site providing customers with spending patterns across a broad range of topics delivers on that promise,” said the bank’s Chief Marketing and Online Officer, Andy Lark,

Signals has a number of interactive elements which will help the user compare everyday spending,  mortgage and personal loan payments, as well as savings to others in their demographic. 

Each month, a new focus, or Signal, will be published alongside informed comment and analysis, supplemented by videos and infographics to help consumers visualise the data. Topics will cover subjects that affect every day Australians, such as eating in vs. eating out, state of the real estate market, utility costs etc., which have been pooled from credit card transactional and research data
